Limit Texas Holdem Poker

Limit hold'em Poker is the most popular variation of texas hold'em poker, attracting many amateur poker players. The reason for it being so popular is because the betting is not overly aggressive. The stakes are not big and because the wagering is confined, you will easily compete with very little money.

If you are playing at a 50c/$1 Limit holdem Poker game, the wagering will be confined to values of 50 cents during the pre-flop and flop, and $1 on the Turn and River rounds.

In Limit poker games the strongest poker hand more often than not wins, due to the fact that players are most likely to stay in the game and cause a showdown. If you were playing in a NL Poker Room bettors are most likely to fold before the turn or river, than risk squandering a large part of their bankroll.

Bluffing in Limit rounds is not very common, because it's not too costly for your competitor to call if he/she thinks that you are attempting to trick her.

If you're betting at a lower-limit table and you are dealt a powerful hand you should attempt to keep as many players in the round as you can. Trying checking if you're one of the first to place a bet, this should fool most bettors into thinking your hand is poor.

The key is to draw as many bets away from your opponents without exposing that you are in a strong position.

In low-limit poker rounds you should keep a lookout for pre-flop hands that are no fewer than nines or higher pair, or two big rank unpaired cards.
